Month 1: Introduction to Anthropology

Days 1-8: Milan

After arriving in Italy, we'll spend our first week getting a crash course in biological anthropology including an introduction to biological anthropology on day one, human biology and anatomy on day two, zoo-anthropology and primatology on day three, human ecology on day four, and forensics on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Milan on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 9-15: Bologna

After arriving in Bologna, we'll spend our second week getting a crash course in archaeology including an introduction to archaeology on day one, introductions to world history on days two and three, archaeological methods on day four, and museums and heritage studies on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Bologna on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 16-22: Genoa

After arriving in Genoa, we'll spend our third week getting a crash course in linguistic anthropology including an introduction to linguistic anthropology on day one, constructing languages on day two, folklore and storytelling on day three, identity and language on day four, and language revitalization on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Genoa on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 23-29: Turin

After arriving in Turin, we'll spend our final week of the month getting a crash course in socio-cultural anthropology including an introduction to socio-cultural anthropology on day one, kinship and community on day two, visual and performing arts on day three, cultural development and counter-culture on day four, and politics and revolution on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Turin on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Month 2: In-Depth Anthropology

Days 30-36: Lyon

After arriving in Lyon, we'll spend our first week of our second month learning more about human evolutionary biology including lessons on human origins on day one, human identity on day two, ethics in biological anthropology on day three, careers in biological anthropology on day four, and relevance and recognition on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Lyon on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 37-43: Stuttgart

After arriving in Germany, we'll spend our second week of our second month learning more about European archaeology including lessons on Pre-Historic Europe on day one, Bronze and Iron Age Europe on day two, Medieval Europe on day three, Early Modern Europe on day four, and Post-Industrial Europe on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Stuttgart on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 44-50: Cologne

After arriving in Cologne, we'll spend our third week of our second month learning more about folklore studies including lessons on Norse mythology on day one, Early Christianity in Germany on day two, the Protestant Reformation on day three, the Brothers Grimm and other German fairytales on day four, and German literary fiction on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Cologne on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 51-57: Lille

After arriving back in France, we'll spend our final week of our second month learning more about culture and counter-culture including lessons on French cuisine on day one, French art and music on day two, women's history in France on day three, LGBTQ+ history in France on day four, and the French Revolution on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Lille on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Month 3: Professional Anthropology

Days 58-64: London

After arriving in England, we'll spend our first week of our third month learning about how to publish anthropological writing including lessons on academic writing on day one, data collection on day two, writing and editing academic papers on day three, publishing written work on day four, and advertising and selling written work on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring London on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 65-71: Stuttgart

After arriving in Liverpool, we'll spend our second week of our third month learning about how to publish anthropological photography including lessons on photo journalism on day one, scheduling photo shoots on day two, photographic and editing on day three, publishing photography on day four, and advertising and selling photography on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Liverpool on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 72-78: Belfast

After arriving in Belfast, we'll spend our third week of our third month learning about how to publish anthropological videos and documentaries including lessons on documentary filmmaking on day one, cinematography on day two, filming and editing on day three, publishing documentaries and videos on day four, and advertising and selling documentaries and videos on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Belfast on our final day in the city before we head to our next location.

Days 79-85: Dublin

After arriving in Ireland, we'll spend our final week learning about how to manage educational social media including lessons on social media ethics on day one, designing social media posts on day two, managing social media profiles on day three, promoting social media posts on day four, and attracting sponsors and networking on day five.

Participants will then get to spend their Saturday freely exploring Dublin on our final day of the journey before heading to the airport with a career in anthropology ahead of them.
